Nokia E71 is the latest Nokia E-Series Smart phones to release in the US markets.  The new Smart phone which is just 10 millimeters thick is being presented as the slimmest Smart phones in the market.

The Nokia E71 is designed ” to deliver a superior mobile experience” and has a whole array of features to attract the buyers.

The sleek and stylish stainless steel design of the exterior is equally matched by its advanced features.  The phone comes with a full QWERTY key pad, a quad-band GSM and dual-band HSDPA connectivity.  The phone runs on Symbian 9.2 S60 3rd Edition.

The Nokia E71 comes with built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, Nokia Maps, advanced e mail capabilities, Push to Talk, Office applications, Music and Video Players and FM radio among its many features.

The phone has a QVGA TFT display with 16 million colors and a 3.2 Mega pixel camera with auto focus, flash and video recording. 

Nokia E71 boasts of being ” a stylish and powerful way” to balance both personal and professional lives with features and looks to match both the aspects.

Currently the phone would be available only in a grey color version, but the year-end may see a white version of the phone in the markets.

Pantech Duo 810: the Latest Smart Phone through Telcel

Pantech Duo 810 is the latest Smart phone to be released in Mexico through Telcel, the largest mobile operator in Mexico. The phone is available through AT&T in the US markets.

Pantech Duo 810 is a dual sliding handset, with two keypads, one alpha-numeric and the other a full QWERTY keypad. This will prove to be very useful for those people who want to send a lot of text messages or e mails.

The Duo 810 runs on Windows Mobile 6.0. The features of this smart phone include a quad band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE and dual-band HSDPA. The phone comes with global roaming which helps the users to access their e mail or just browse the Net in more than 135 countries and also enables voice communication in 190 countries through GPRS and EDGE.

The Pantech Duo 810 comes with a 2.2 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 256K colors, Windows Media Player 10, Pocket Office for viewing and editing documents, Outlook e mail, Pocket Internet Explorer, Blue tooth with A2DP, USB and micro SD card support along with many other useful features.

The battery gives about 3 hours of talk-time or up to 240 hours of stand by time. The phone measures 102 x 50 x 19.9 millimeters, so it may appear a bit bulky but the dual sliding explains that.

The pricing in Mexico is not yet known, but the phone is available through AT&T in the US for $99 for a two-year contract agreement. It comes in two color versions of black and red.

Palm’s Latest Smart phone Treo 800w with Windows Mobile 6.1 Released

Palm’s latest Smart phone, Treo 800w with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional is now available in the US exclusively through Sprint.  The Treo 800w is “built for business” and is designed specifically to cater to the needs of the business users on the go. 

The Treo 800w is supported by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and includes all the features like Microsoft Office Mobile, Microsoft Outlook Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile among others.  Treo operates on the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network and comes with EV-DO Rev.

The Treo 800w is easy to use and has a full QWERTY keypad, five-way navigation and one touch buttons for the most-used applications.

The Smart phone has a TFT touchscreen display with 320 x 320 pixels resolution, Stereo Blue tooth, Sprint TV, a 2M camera with video recording among its many features.  The Treo 800w comes with 128MB of program memory, 256 MB of user memory and a micro-SD card support for up to 8 GB.

The handset measures 4.4×2.3 x 0.7 inches or 112 x 58 x 17.8 mm and weighs 5.0 ounces or 141 gms. 

Though it is currently available only through Sprint it may made available through other carriers also later in the year.

Samsung’s Latest Smart Phones SPH-M4655 and SCH-M480 to be Released Soon

Samsung will release its latest premium Smart Phones Multi Touch II, model SPH-M4655 and Ultra Messaging II, model SCH-M480 in the Korean markets.

The SPH-M4655 features Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and CDMA 2000 EV-Do Rev A connectivity for high speed data transfer, e mailing and DMB. 

The SPH-M4655 comes with a 2.8 inch LCD display with 240×320 pixel resolution.  The other features include a 2M camera with video recording and mobile TV capabilities, Blue tooth and USB and a micro SD card slot.  The Smart Phone would be available from LG Telecom in Korea.

The other Smart phone Ultra Messaging II, model SCH-M480 runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional and can work with Microsoft Office documents and browse the web.

The SCH-M480 comes with a 2.6 inch touchscreen display with 320×320 pixel resolution, a 2M camera for video calling, MP3/MPEG4, WMV, files support and a micro SD card slot.  This Smart phone would be made available through SK Telecom in Korea.

Samsung Smart Phone “Black Jack III” model SCH-M480 will be released next week in Korea, by SK Telecom, one of the largest telecoms operators there.

SCH-M480 dubbed as “Ultra Messaging 2″ will be running on the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 OS.  The SCH-M480 can work with Microsoft Office, browse the web, read e-mail and also play multimedia files.

The SCH-M480 comes with a 2.55 inch touchscreen display with 320×320 pixel resolution with 65K colors, a stylish keypad and finger mouse.

The SCH-M480 has a 2M camera, MP3/MPEG4, WMV files support and micro SD card slot.  It comes with a 3G connectivity, internal GPS, Wi-Fi, video and music player. 

The SCH-M480 has a 1480mAh battery which can give upto 7 hours in talk-time or upto 400 hours in stand-by mode.

The SCH-M480 measures 115.9 x 61.3 x 12.9 mm and weighs 120 gms.

Motorola Touchscreen Smart phone A810 & Other PDA Series Launched

Motorola has launched its touchscreen smart phone A810 as an entry-level PDA along-with its other PDA series A1600 and A1800.

The full-featured A 810 is based on Linux OS and will be currently available only in China.  The Motorola A810 comes with a 2.2 inch touchscreen display with 240×320 pixels.  It is easy to send and receive e-mails and SMS because of the advanced handwriting recognition feature.  The A810 comes with an interactive interface to access Internet and e mails. It has a 8.5 browser with an expandable memory of upto 2GB.

The fully featured set of tools include an integrated MP3 player, FM radio and video players.  The 2M camera comes with video recording and play-back capabilities. 

The A810 is designed with multi-functional and fully-featured tools in an effort to add “new energy and style to Motorola’s PDA series”.  This is surely going to lure the young Chinese who believe in working hard and partying harder.

Samsung Smart phone, model SGH-i200 with Windows Mobile 6.1 OS is now available in the retail markets in Europe and Asia.

The Standard Edition of Samsung i200 Smart phone with slim and stylish looks is available in two colors, black and blue.

The SGH- i200 comes with a tri-band connectivity (900/1800/1900 MHz) and with GPRS and EDGE. The 2100MHz HSDPA connectivity gives transfer speeds upto 3.6 Mbps.

The 2.3 inch TFT non-touchscreen display gives 240×320 pixels resolution and 262K colors. The 2M camera comes with face detection and video recording. The other features of SGH-i200 include Pocket Internet Explorer, Outlook, email etc .

A drawback may be the limited 25MB internal memory but it is easily overcome with the additional micro-SD card slot. So users can get several GBs of storage by putting that additional card.

The 1100 mAh battery of SGH-i200 can give upto 4hours in talk-time mode and upto 360 hours in Stand by mode.

This sleek phone measures only 116.7×50.8×11.8 millimeters and weighs 102 grams.

Blackberry BOLD: for retail market and businesses

Research In Motion Ltd is launching a new high-end version of the Blackberry aimed at its core base of business users, but it hopes the sleek device will also catch on in the broad retail market. The Blackberry Bold, as the new smart-phone is called, is the first Blackberry to support high-speed HSDPA cellular networks with integrated GPS, Wi-Fi and lot of multimedia features.

“It’s really a step up in function in many core aspects of the system,” RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie said in an interview.

The smart-phone rolls out globally this summer and will cost between $300 and $400. AT&T will be its lead carrier in the United States.

“We had expected a 3G device later this year,” he wrote. “We estimate the Bold could increase RIM’s quarterly shipments by 200,000 to 400,000.”

While Waterloo, Ontario-based RIM hopes the Bold will entice corporate users to upgrade the handsets they currently use, Balsillie said he “wouldn’t be surprised if it gets picked up by the consumer.”

The device will be a test of whether the shaky U.S. economy is making corporations less willing to spend on new wireless hardware. Some analysts have expressed concerns that companies will delay upgrades or cut back on spending on items such as the Blackberry.

UBS analyst Jeffrey Fan wrote in a note to clients he expects the company to launch between three or four new devices this year.

“We believe RIM’s broadening portfolio should widen its appeal to the mass market,” he wrote.

The Bold features the most vivid display ever on a Blackberry, a 2-mega-pixel camera with video recording capability, and a media player for watching movies and managing music collections.

This isn’t the first time a Blackberry has been loaded with multimedia features to catch the eye of the retail customer. RIM has actively worked at diversifying its client base away from the executives, lawyers and other professionals who use the Blackberry for sending secure wireless e-mail.

More than a third of RIM’s 14 million subscribers are now classified as non-government and non-corporate.

This pursuit of consumers has put RIM in increasingly direct competition with devices such as Apple’s iPhone which target the broad consumer market.
