Panasonic Viera 921P is the latest high-end mobile to release in the Japanese markets through SoftBank.  The phone will be available in the markets from today, that is 2nd August.  The attractive clam shell phone comes with a variety of good features.

The Panasonic Viera 921P comes with a 5.1 Mega pixel camera phone with auto focus, hand-shake detection and video recording along with its other useful functions.

The Viera 921P has a 3.1 inch TFT Viera internal display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution with 260K colors and a 0.9 inch external OLED screen with 128 x 36 pixels resolution to display information like messages and incoming calls.  The phone supports 1-Seg and Blue tooth 2.0 with EDP connectivity.  The phone comes with a tri-band GSM connectivity as well as HSDPA, has GPS function and global roaming service.

Among its many features the Viera 921P also comes with a micro SDHC card slot for up to 8GB of memory, Music and Video Players and Web and e-mail capabilities.  The battery can give a talk time of up to 220 minutes or can give up to 410 hours in stand-by mode. 

The 50 x 108 x 17.5 millimeter phone weighs 124 gms and is offered in six different colors like gold, silver white, black, purple, mint green and pink. 

The phone is offered as the SoftBank 921P in the Japanese markets and may stay restricted to those markets without ever coming out.

Panasonic Mirror II is the latest mobile from the leading Japanese electronics manufacturer Panasonic and it will be released through SoftBank in Japan. It is a phone designed to impress the users.The clam shell phone comes with a very glamorous and attractive external case.  Panasonic proves that changing colors can be very impressive, in a mobile phone only, of course.  The phone changes colors from purple to yellow golden depending on the viewing angle.

The advanced features in the phone match the unique looks of the phone.  The Panasonic Mirror II comes with a 3 inch TFT internal display with 240 x 427 pixels resolution and 260K colors as also an external display with 96 x 25 pixels resolution.

The other interesting features of the phone include Mobile TV, internal GPS, Web and e mail capabilities and Media Player.  The phone comes with WCDMA and HSDPA connectivity and Blue tooth.

The Mirror II comes with a 2 Mega pixel camera with auto focus and VGA video recording and also a secondary video-call camera.  The phone has expandable memory of up to 8 GB with a micro SD card or a micro SDHC card.

The 107 x 49 x 15.9 millimeters phone weighs 118 gms and comes with a battery which can give stand-by time of up to 600 hours.  The talk-time of 220 minutes only, leaves much to be desired.

The phone would be available in Japan in August through SoftBank as SoftBank 824P.  The phone will be offered in five color versions of Midnight Purple, Deep Pink, Ruby Red, Champagne Gold and Crystal Silver.

LG’s latest “Wine Phone” model LG-KF 300/L706ie was released simultaneously in both Japan and Europe. The entry-level fashion phone has been specially designed to be senior-friendly.

The LG-KF 300 is a clam-shell variety that may not boast of many advanced features, but if you are looking for basic functionality then this may be a good choice for you.

Keeping elderly users in mind, the LG-KF 300 has been designed with a large numeric keypad and a 2.4 inch internal display which supports 256K colors and comes with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and has a 1.8 inch external display.

The LG-KF 300 works on tri-band GSM network and offers GPRS and EDGE. Among its other features it includes enhanced voice calling, 4 key buttons for frequent menus such as voice recording, condition setting, alarm and schedule, a 2 Mega pixel camera with auto focus, Flash user interface, FM radio, Music Player (MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and AAC++), Video Player, Blue tooth 2.0, USB, WAP 2.0/HTML web browser and 10 MB internal memory with micro SD card support.

The LG-KF 300 is being presented in three colors, that is pink, white and gold in Japan and in pink, dark purple and black in Europe.

Sharp launches its 5.2M camera phone with a swivelling AQUOS LCD display in Japan through Softbank.  The model will be available in the Japanese markets from July 5th as Softbank 923SH.

The new 923SH is being promoted as one of the best mobile TV phones in the market.  It has the same AQUOS LCD display that is the cornerstone of Sharp TVs. The 3.3 inch swivelling AQUOS LCD display comes with a 480×845 pixel resolution and boasts of supporting upto 16.7 million colors.

The 5.2M camera comes with an auto focus, face detection, flash, wide-angle capabilities, video recording and also stabilizes hand-shake blurring.  Most of the needs of the mobile phone photographer are well taken care of.

Among the other features, the 923SH comes with the usual GPS function, Blue tooth connectivity, Global roaming service, HSDPA connectivity, advanced Internet capabilities with 1-Seg support and Music and video players.

The battery of 923SH is capable of providing 4 hours of talk-time or upto 350 hours of stand-by time.

The 923SH measures 113×50x18.6 millimeters and weighs 135 gms.  The 923SH is being presented in white, black, wine red and pink colors.

The price of the 923SH is not yet known.

Panasonic has released the 3G Tropical 823P a waterproof handset in the Japanese markets on 28th June.  The Tropical 823P was made available through Japan’s third largest mobile carriers, Softbank.  The phone is being presented as the handset that can be carried into “the bathroom and the kitchen”.  It is being promoted as a complete waterproof mobile handset.

The Tropical 823P is  a clamshell design which measures 50×108x17.6mm and weighs 132 gms.  It is available in pure white, lime green, cherry pink, marine blue and black.

The Tropical 823P has a 3 inch QVGA display with a 240×320 pixel resolution.  It has a 2Mega-pixel camera with auto focus and video recording.  Among other features, it also has HSDPA support, 1-Seg for viewing TV programmes, Blue-tooth and GPS functions.

The battery of Tropical 823P is capable of giving up to 220 minutes of talk time and 600 hours of stand-by time.  It can also give upto 5.3 hours in TV viewing mode.

The price of Tropical 823P is currently not known.

TOKYO — Japan, home to some of the most discriminating cellphone users in the world, has long been a difficult market for foreign mobile-phone makers. But this year could be promising — at least for one of them.

Prada SpA said NTT DoCoMo Inc., Japan’s top mobile operator by subscribers, on May 23 will begin selling the Prada phone, an exclusive model created by the Italian luxury brand and South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. The phone, which will be available in black and silver, will be unveiled here Thursday. DoCoMo and LG Electronics declined to comment.
