Black berry curve 8310 weighs 3.9 ounces and measures 4.2 x 2.4 x 0.6 inches. Take advantage on its full featured premium navigation application TeleNav GPS Navigator software. This gives an audible turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic updates and re-routing options and 3D moving maps. Its battery could last up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 408 hours of digital standby time. It also runs in 850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies. This Smartphone is fashioned in titanium end with delicately curving corners. A screen that is 2.5 inch wide, it provides 65,000 colors and a 320 x 240 pixel resolution includes a light sensing feature. BlackBerry Curve 8900

Considered as one of the most drop-dead gorgeous phones by critiques, this BlackBerry Curve edition caters to the executives of the corporate world. Not only it has a classic and elegant design, its features are specially crafted for the said market.

Its user interface contains a wide screen and a keyboard instead of a key pad. It presents an ultra-crisp display, despite its lower resolution than its Curve8320 counterpart. It contains advanced specs such as Wi-Fi capability, camera, media streaming and player, and superb audio output. However, it only has 2G feature instead of the revolutionized 3G, but who needs that when it already has excellent features.

Blackberry 9500 and 9530 – The Twin brothers with one difference

Blackberry Thunder and Storm puzzle got resolved when Thunder bolted out and Storm remained. RIM’s work of art comes with a brilliant touchscreen user interface. The screen size is massive and the 3.25 inches and its high resolution makes viewing web pages, photos and videos a delightful experience. The virtual QWERTY keyboard comes in two forms – the full and the SureType and switches depending on portrait or landscape positioning of the display screen. The touchscreen responds to the finger with such ease that one can’t help wondering if the phone is intuitive.

Storm uses a new innovation called “ClickThrough” which makes the screen respond to pressure allowing the feel of a real keyboard. The font sizes are user adjustable – a feature the user would love. Its multitasking feature, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, video recording, a media player, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS navigation, Bluetooth wireless connectivity, 3G with HSDPA and 1GB of built-in memory plus the ability to expand the memory with a microSD card makes it a delight to have in the hands. But then when you feel the 155g weight in your hands, you feel a bit weighed down. This is said to be the heaviest smartphone currently on sale in the UK. The Battery life is quoted to be 5.5 hours talktime and 360 hours standby.

The Blackberry Storm 9500 and 9530, share similar features and specifications except that The 9530 supports 3G with HSDPA 2100 and CDMA2000 1x EV-DO while 9500 supports 3G with HSDPA 2100 alone.

The Storm launched in the UK at the beginning of November 2008. It is exclusive to Vodafone and is available free on a £35 per month tariff in the UK.

BlackBerry Curve 8330 World Edition Released by Reliance Communications

Blackberry Curve 8330 in its World Edition was released in India in collaboration with Reliance Communications. 

The Blackberry Curve 8330 is a “feature-rich” handset and because it is released in its World Edition means that Indian users can operate on both the GSM and CDMA technology from anywhere in India.

Blackberry Curve 8330, presented in a silver case, comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, advanced Web and e-mail capabilities. The Curve 8330 comes with a trackball navigation system, Instant messaging and organiser. 

The other features include media player, MMS capabilities, a 2M camera with flash, video recording and digital zoom.  The Curve 8330 comes with a TFT display of 320×240 pixels resolution, Blue tooth 2.0, speaker phone and noise cancellation technology along with a host of other features. The USB and micro-SD card support upto 8GB memory.

The Blackberry Curve 8330 is being retailed in the Indian markets by RIM for 25,990 INR, an equivalent of $610 or 390 Euros.

Blackberry Bold to be released in Canada

Blackberry Bold to be released in CanadaBlackberry Bold 9000 will be released in Canada in July, atleast a month before it enters the US markets.  Slated as one of the best smart-phones from RIM stables it is all set to take on Apple’s i-phone in the high-end mobile segment.  Bold will be made available through Canada’s largest mobile operators, Rogers Wireless. 

 Blackberry Bold comes in a well designed case and measures 114×66x14 millimetres.  It weighs 133 gms.  It has a wide TFT display with a 480×320 pixel resolution and comes with an expandable memory of 1 GB. 

Bold comes with the RIM’s trackball navigator, a quad-band GSM plus tri-band HSDPA connectivity and a full QWERTY keypad. Among other features the phone will also have a built-in GPS, WI-FI, Blackberry maps, advanced e-mail capabilities, a full HTML browser and Music and video players.

The 624MH3 processor and the powerful 1500 mAh battery will provide a talk time of upto 5 hours and a stand by time of upto 310 hours.

The exact pricing of the Blackberry Bold has not yet been revealed by Rogers.

Research In Motion Ltd is launching a new high-end version of the Blackberry aimed at its core base of business users, but it hopes the sleek device will also catch on in the broad retail market. The Blackberry Bold, as the new smart-phone is called, is the first Blackberry to support high-speed HSDPA cellular networks with integrated GPS, Wi-Fi and lot of multimedia features.

“It’s really a step up in function in many core aspects of the system,” RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie said in an interview.

The smart-phone rolls out globally this summer and will cost between $300 and $400. AT&T will be its lead carrier in the United States.

“We had expected a 3G device later this year,” he wrote. “We estimate the Bold could increase RIM’s quarterly shipments by 200,000 to 400,000.”

While Waterloo, Ontario-based RIM hopes the Bold will entice corporate users to upgrade the handsets they currently use, Balsillie said he “wouldn’t be surprised if it gets picked up by the consumer.”

The device will be a test of whether the shaky U.S. economy is making corporations less willing to spend on new wireless hardware. Some analysts have expressed concerns that companies will delay upgrades or cut back on spending on items such as the Blackberry.

UBS analyst Jeffrey Fan wrote in a note to clients he expects the company to launch between three or four new devices this year.

“We believe RIM’s broadening portfolio should widen its appeal to the mass market,” he wrote.

The Bold features the most vivid display ever on a Blackberry, a 2-mega-pixel camera with video recording capability, and a media player for watching movies and managing music collections.

This isn’t the first time a Blackberry has been loaded with multimedia features to catch the eye of the retail customer. RIM has actively worked at diversifying its client base away from the executives, lawyers and other professionals who use the Blackberry for sending secure wireless e-mail.

More than a third of RIM’s 14 million subscribers are now classified as non-government and non-corporate.

This pursuit of consumers has put RIM in increasingly direct competition with devices such as Apple’s iPhone which target the broad consumer market.
